After getting on the podium in round 1 I had my work cut out to maintain my position. This time I was joined by my coach Robin O’Leary at the Castle Climbing Centre in London. Another 24 competitiors, 3 climbs and 3 boulder problems to face. This was round 2 of 4 of the British Paraclimbing Series 2015.
After a warm-up we went through the game plan for tackling the climbs and boulders. After discussing them with Robin I felt more confident. I tackled the first route which looked the easiest and then the easiest boulder. This then left the second route which looked at tough one. A hard movement from my little arm and a pocket which was just to small for it. However, I need not have worried as I flashed both.
After lunch the final route and last 2 boulders all looked tough but after discussions with Robin and following my gameplan I flashed them all. Finishing the day with a perfet score.
Another gold for round 2.
A delayed late evening flight was not a good start to the trip back to Edinburgh for the first round of the British Paraclimbing Series at the spectacular EICA in Ratho. We arrived in Edinburgh about 10.00pm and after a very efficient taxi rank and ride we arrived at our hotel. A quick cup of tea and then bed ready for the competition in the morning.
